Boudoir Is For You! ~ Boudoir Photography ~ Vancouver, WA

When you take a look at the boudoir photos that are posted on my website, have you ever wondered more about the women who are featured in the shots?

My photos often display women looking so confident and empowered while embracing their bodies! Especially if you’ve never had a session before, it may feel a bit difficult imagining yourself in their shoes. You might be thinking…

“How was she able to relax while being in front of the camera like that?”

Or “I’m not feeling completely confident with myself yet, so a boudoir session isn’t for me.”

Here’s the truth! Before shooting, many women have some jitters or nerves because it’s a brand new, first time experience! Those feelings are 100% normal. Keeping this in mind, I’m here to encourage you and reassure you… If the idea of stepping in front of the camera for a boudoir shoot is nerve-racking, but you otherwise would LOVE to book a session, I totally encourage you to do it!

I hope you can take comfort in knowing that the women who you’re seeing in my boudoir photos are just like you… Many of them have also had first time jitters, but they booked sessions, had incredible experiences, and walked away feeling so empowered! Not to mention, they also walked away with amazing gifts either for themselves or their partner.

SO if you’ve ever thought that boudoir just isn’t for you… Think again! Having nerves about the experience doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t do it. It’s another reason why you should! If I could reach out to you and share just one thing, I would tell you that you’re absolutely capable of working through the jitters. You’re powerful and able to do whatever you set your mind to.

If you don’t quite believe me… Here’s my client’s experience! My client booked a boudoir session with me and shared in her pre-session questionnaire that she had some nerves going into the experience. Otherwise, I could tell that she was really looking forward to her session! She shared more about the outfits she planned to wear and seemed really excited about the theme she wanted for her shoot. I’m so happy that she didn’t let her jitters hold her back from booking a boudoir session!

On the day of the session, my client arrived at the studio, and we quickly got started with hair and makeup! Emily Filice did such a gorgeous job on her makeup… She was absolutely glowing, and her makeup look really complemented the yellow velvet teddy that she brought along!

Once we got started, there were some jitters there, but my client jumped right into the session and was amazing! Her first look included her gorgeous yellow teddy that had a bit of a vintage feel, and we ended up using blue satin sheets in these shots as well. It’s not everyday that we get to use bright colors like these in boudoir sessions, so I was really loving how vibrant the photos were coming out. Along the way, I was reassuring her that she was killing it and the shots were incredible!

She then swapped out her outfit for a different blue bodysuit, and we took quite a few pictures using the living room set! Many of these photos have a sensual feel, so the black and white edits really complemented the style of those shots. After this, we captured a few photos of my client in the living room set as she wore her black outfit with thigh-highs. To finish off, of course we had to take more photos using the blue satin sheets! My client was truly glowing alongside such a vibrant color.

Thank you SO much to my client for trusting me and joining me for a boudoir session! I’m incredibly happy that you had an amazing experience even with some first time jitters.

If you’re reading this and starting to consider a boudoir session, I promise that it’s such an empowering, fun experience. It’s normal to have nerves when you’re walking into the studio, but by the time you’re walking out, you’ll be feeling so glad you did it!
