This Post Is on Fire! ~ Boudoir Photography ~ Vancouver, WA

Before we jump into today's post... I have to say that I've REALLY been looking forward to writing this one! It's now December in the Pacific Northwest, so our typical winter weather is in full swing. (If you're not from the area, think cold air, gray skies, and constant drizzle.)

If you're anything like me, I'm sure you've also been missing the summer sun and heat on your skin. Luckily, I have the perfect cure for the winter blues... This fiery boudoir post!

My client was referred to me by one of her friends (who previously booked a couples session with me), and I'm so thrilled that she took her friend's recommendation! Before the session even started, my client had a confident spark about her and expressed so much excitement for her upcoming session. With all of her enthusiasm and positivity, I knew she would be a TON of fun to work with.

I was already eager to work with her, and when I later learned her reason for booking a boudoir session... I truly couldn't wait for her session date! She booked a shoot with me so she could gift some spicy images to her husband for their 13th wedding anniversary. My client also shared that her husband is a retired first responder, so she planned to bring in his firefighter helmet to use as a prop.

As you can probably tell, I really enjoy shooting sessions that have a theme... so I loved hearing that we'd have a firefighter prop to match my client's fiery spirit. Boudoir sessions (in and of themselves) are a surefire way to turn up the heat, but I really love that my client went the extra mile and committed to her firefighter theme!

On the day of her session, she came into the studio with her upbeat attitude, and chatting with her was a wonderful way to start off the day! Coreene Collins got started on her hair and makeup, and the resulting look was simple yet sultry. Plus, the neutral eye makeup complemented her blue eyes super well and made them POP. The finished curls were bouncy and ended up looking stunning on camera.

For the bedroom set, my client chose silver satin sheets with black lingerie... a classic combination! Her smile was radiant, and her personality REALLY shined through the camera in these bedroom shots. Also, the simple styling used in this part of the shoot called attention to her beautiful body art.

Next, it was time to turn the heat up! We shot in front of the fireplace and brought out her husband's firefighter helmet. We placed the helmet on the fireplace mantle for some of the images so my client could take center stage. For these shots, she posed on the antique chair and in front of the mirror while the helmet was in the background... acting as a subtle nod to her husband. In some of the other photos, she held the helmet in her hands and posed with it in such a playful way! The resulting shots were flirty and fun... I'm sure her husband will LOVE them.

Finally, we captured some photos in my shower set! Because there's a chance my clients may get a little wet during this part of the session, I typically make this the last set we shoot in. Once again, her smile and fun energy came out during these shots! You can really tell that she had a great time during the session... which I love to see as well.

Thank you SO much to my client for spending the day with me and trusting me to bring your fiery vision to life! Your energy lit up the room, and I had SUCH a wonderful time shooting this wedding anniversary session with you.
