Celebrate Your Anniversary Boudoir-Style! ~ Vancouver, WA

I have women schedule boudoir photography sessions with me for a variety of reasons… sometimes it’s to celebrate a significant birthday, or an important life event (I get both wedding AND divorce session requests!). Sometimes the session is intended as a self-confidence/empowerment boost, and sometimes it’s as a gift for a partner.

(Secret though, your session with me is ALWAYS for you… you may plan on it being a gift for a partner, but let’s be real… you’re going to feel AMAZING when you leave!).

Whatever the reason, though, I love them ALL… and this session was no exception!

This mom booked me several months ago as a surprise for her fifth wedding anniversary gift for her husband. She made small monthly payments so as not to arouse his suspicion before she gifted him a beautiful album back in December.

(Yup, I offer payment plans to help with finances AND to help you be extra sneaky with your gifts!).

During her session, we talked about her husband and their relationship. She told me how happy she was to find a man who truly loved her like she deserved to be loved. She told me that her favorite place on earth is anywhere where she’s with her husband… though the sunny Cabo beaches rank pretty high, too!

She also told me the story about how her husband proposed… and oh my gosh… it’s a doozy!

I can’t say that I wasn’t a little bit jealous when she recounted the story of her husband popping the question at 4000 feet in a hot air balloon! Talk about a beautiful, memorable story! So much so, in fact, that she decided to get a beautiful tattoo on her shoulder to honor the event, and her relationship. So, of course we made sure that the tattoo was shown off in her photos, as well!

With each boudoir session, I encourage my clients to bring 2-3 “outfits” for us to play with… sometimes that includes layers to put on/take off, and sometimes an “outfit” is really nothing at all! But I always love seeing what clothing articles women view as important for themselves, and within their relationships.

This beautiful woman brought several different pieces for us to play with… in addition the corset and lace, I was also excited for her leather jacket and over-sized jersey… and then she brought out the chaps… I will admit, this was the first time that I’d photographed a woman in leather chaps. LOL. It was awesome, y’all! With heels and a corset, she looked like a frickin’ gorgeous bad ass!
