Find Your Session Style! ~ Boudoir Photography ~ Vancouver, WA

For today’s blog post, let’s talk all about style!

If you were to have a boudoir session of your own… What types of clothing and accessories can you see yourself wearing for your shoot?

The styles and possibilities are truly endless! That’s why this question can be so difficult for everyone to answer… For your photography session, you can choose to embrace your personal style or even switch it up and try out a look that’s entirely new to you. The best part is, there’s no “right” or “wrong” way to style yourself… You can absolutely add sweaters, jeans, button-ups, or costumes to your look if that’s what you’d like to wear! It’s all about you, your level of comfort, and your personal style.

If you need some help choosing what to wear for your session, my Lingerie Guide is here to help! Whether you’re a boudoir first timer or photoshoot veteran, you’ll definitely be able to get some new ideas from the guide. Along with the styling guide, you can also check out boudoir looks from my past clients and models. Here, you’ll find all different types of lingerie, color schemes, and accessories.

For even more fashion inspiration… Today’s blog post features a client who definitely knows a thing or two about personal style! Before our boudoir session together, I learned that some of her style staples include jeans, a leather jacket, and a cowboy boots. She shared that she planned to wear all of those items to her shoot along with lingerie, a corset, and a cowboy hat. I absolutely love that she chose to embrace her “leather and lace” style for the camera!

On the day of the session, my client arrived at the studio, and we got started with hair and makeup! Coreene Collins was her hair and makeup artist, and she did a phenomenal job creating styles to complement my client’s country and rock-inspired looks. As we got started with the photos, it was so clear that her day-to-day clothing items translated perfectly to a sensual, boudoir setting. She posed in the living room set with her jeans and brown corset, and these final photos definitely have the “leather and lace” feel that we were going for! While in the living room set, my client also tried some different poses with her cowboy hat and black corset.

For the bedroom set and shower set photos, my client chose to wear items that were black and a bit more stripped down! Even without seeing her cowboy hat in these shots, her fun personal style and confidence are still clear to see. When you have a strong personal style, it’s so interesting to see how your vibe can shine through your outfit, even when wearing a more minimal, monochrome look.

Thank you SO much to my client! We had such a fun session, and seeing your style shine during the shoot was an amazing reminder to embrace our personal tastes… especially during a boudoir session!

If you’re still wondering what to wear for your upcoming session, just remember… You’re always welcome to choose a look that’s different from the styles you would normally wear, but there’s no pressure to wear an outfit or accessories that don’t feel like you.

Take it from my client! If you have a strong personal style and choose to bring your own special pieces to your boudoir session, you’ll walk away with incredible photos that truly reflect your personality and style.
