Frequently Asked Questions: Part 1 ~ Boudoir Photography ~ Vancouver, WA

Man with a rainbow tattoo on his arm is sitting down and holding a sheet over him while posing for a boudoir photo in Vancouver, Washington.

It's hard to believe, but I've been in business as Brittney Corey Photography since 2017! You heard that right... almost TEN years. And with ten years of shooting boudoir photography also comes ten years of working with my incredible clients. You all have taught me a LOT about what clients are thinking before, during, and after their boudoir sessions... and this has given me SO much valuable knowledge. Thanks to you, I started picking up on most common questions clients have for me before stepping in the studio, which is what today's blog post is all about.

So whether you're a brand new client who's wondering what to expect during your upcoming boudoir session...

Or just looking to calm your nerves before your upcoming shoot...

Today's Boudoir FAQ post is for you!

The following questions are all centered around calming your worries and making you feel safe before your boudoir session. If you're looking for answers to more of the logistical questions instead (like "How long does a session last? or "Do you offer printed albums?"), you'll want to stick around for my second Boudoir FAQ post!

1. Are you inclusive of all body types and sexualities?

Absolutely! Every single body type is beautiful and more than welcome in my studio. No matter your size, shape, or weight... you are worthy of a boudoir session, and I'd love to work with you!

I also welcome all sexualities and gender identities! It's my objective to make you feel respected, safe, and supported during your time in the studio, no matter how you identify. It should be noted, though, that my boudoir studio style can definitely be described as more soft and feminine.

2. Can you remove scars and other blemishes?

I can and do... with a couple of caveats!

Because boudoir photography is about loving and appreciating the body that you’re in, I don't generally remove permanent marks such as moles, freckles, and scars. I do, however, remove blemishes that would not be there the next time I saw you... like bruises, scratches, or acne.

If you have a permanent mark that you REALLY don’t want in your photos, please let me know about it ahead of time! I can do a lot with posing, and if it still shows up in your final images, I can take some time to try to remove it from your selected images for you.

3. Will my images be shared?

I don't share ANY images without a signed release from you. To reassure you even more... you don’t even get the option to sign the release until AFTER you’ve seen your final images. Boudoir is a very personal, intimate experience, and I respect my client’s privacy completely!

4. I’m still SO nervous! How can I do a boudoir session?

I promise you that EVERYONE is nervous at the beginning! I’ve heard from past boudoir clients that it usually takes about 10-20 minutes to chill and relax once you’re in front of the camera. I can also attest to this from my own personal experience! 10-20 minutes is nothing and will be over before you know it! You’ll rock this and have AMAZING images to show for it.

If you're wondering how others dealt with the nerves, you can also read through my other guest blog posts that are labeled as “Client Reviews."
