Grow As We Go ~ Boudoir Photography ~ Vancouver, WA

I always LOVE meeting new clients.

There’s something so special about the opportunity to connect with someone new, work with them to create memories, and help them preserve those memories, too. It’s such an honor to be trusted with capturing these moments and memories for them. It makes me so happy to know that I’ve helped create a memory for them that they’ll look back on with a smile.

When clients return, it’s an incredible experience, too. When they come back for a second session, it’s amazing to see what has changed in their lives. What have they been up to since the first session? How have they grown? Has their family expanded? It means everything to me when I’m able to connect with my clients in this way.

Whether a client has worked with me once, twice, or a million times, I’ll always jump at the chance to grow with my clients and continue working with them whenever an opportunity presents itself.

My client is a perfect example of this… In the past, we’ve had MANY sessions together! Everything from boudoir sessions to maternity shoots… Along with her son’s birth and other family photos! You name it, we’ve done it together. She was also a brand ambassador for me when I was starting out with my photography business! (By the way… thank you so much!)

Because of this, I quickly thought of her when I was planning to do a live photography session in my Facebook group. I know that she’s very familiar with me, my photography style, and the way we collaborate together, so it was a no brainer!

Once I asked her, she agreed, and then we started planning out the photography session! For this session, we planned to use my popular sets in the studio to highlight the different options available to clients. I wanted to show everybody what a typical studio experience is like to make sure they feel comfortable and confident on the day of their session if they do eventually join me for a shoot. We also hoped to show the gorgeous results you can have when you decide to join me for a boudoir session, and we accomplished just that!

When my client showed up for the day, we got her all set up with hair and makeup. For makeup, I worked with a new artist for the first time, and the end results were stunning! We then started the photoshoot and ended up using the living room set. While using this set, we also used the satin sheets from the bedroom set. For these shots, she draped the sheets around her, and we took many of those photos next to the curtains. I’m so glad we did… She looked radiant with the light pouring in from behind the curtains along with styling we chose!

We also used the shower set… a fan favorite! The photos came out looking sultry and beautiful! While taking these photos, I wanted to show that shower set photos are perfect for showing the curves of your body and embracing your sensual side. For anyone hoping to do just that, using the shower set is a perfect choice!

I just recently worked with my client for this session, so you would think it’ll be a bit until we have a photography shoot again… Surprise! I’ll be seeing this client again next month to photograph her wedding! Through photography, I’ve helped capture many big moments in her life, and I’m so grateful that I’ll be able to photograph her wedding, too. When I step back and think about how often we’ve worked together, there’s so much beauty in it all. As time goes on, I’m capturing her life as it grows and changes, and I’m growing through this experience, too.
