A Gift to Remember ~ Boudoir Photography ~ Vancouver, WA

Take a second to imagine this…

You’re madly in love, years into a relationship with your partner, and of course want to spend quality time with them… Think date nights, fun trips, and special one-on-one alone time! The only issue? You find yourself miles away from them, so that’s not always possible!

If this sounds all too familiar, chances are you’re in a long distance relationship or have been in one… For one reason or another, it can be so common to find yourself in this situation. With the popularity of online dating, it’s more and more common for two people who live far away to meet and date each other. And good news! If you’re committed to making it work with your partner, you two can thrive in this type of long distance relationship!

When it comes to long distance relationships, it’s SO important to find ways to connect with your partner while you’re physically apart. Sometimes this can take a good amount of creativity! Of course you can talk on the phone and FaceTime each other, but occasionally the situation calls for that extra bit of planning…

And that’s where I come in! When you’re face-to-face with your partner or spouse, being intimate and working on your physical connection will come more naturally… But what happens when you’re trying to build intimacy from hundreds of miles away? Sharing photos is a fan favorite for some, but what if we stepped it up and took boudoir photos to share instead? I guarantee that your long distance partner will be LOVING them and feeling so grateful for the extra treat!

This is exactly what my client planned to do! My client reached out to me to book a boudoir photography session, and I found out that she and her partner are a long distance couple for the majority of the year. Because she’ll spend months at a time in Washington for work, her boyfriend is separated from her during this time while he is in another state.

She had the idea to book this photo session as a gift to her boyfriend… and it was an awesome idea! After boudoir shoots, clients walk away with stunning photos that can remind their significant other of the gorgeous partner they have. These pictures also do an amazing job at keeping your partner excited for the next time you’ll be together in person… They won’t be able to keep their hands to themselves when it’s finally time for a reunion! Needless to say, boudoir sessions definitely help build both anticipation and intimacy in your relationship!

For this session, my client brought in accessories that were personalized to her and her partner, and it added a special personal touch to the shots! She brought in a Kansas City Chiefs shirt that she wore in some of the living room set photos, and it was a great way to tie in a piece of her boyfriend’s interests and hobbies… Adding the shirt was just like including a piece of home! She also added red Converse and fishnets to this look, and it all came together flawlessly.

My client absolutely shined in these photos! Once we were done with the Kansas City Chiefs shirt, we then made use of the bedroom set and silky burgundy sheets which looked beautiful with her. These sheets matched her hair SO unbelievably well and definitely gave the photos more of a sultry feel!

If you ever happen to find yourself in a long distance relationship, just remember that there are so many ways to get creative and build intimacy with one another… My favorite way? Taking boudoir photos of course! Your partner won’t be able to stop looking at them, and don’t be surprised if you find them begging you to meet up ASAP. If you’re hoping to take boudoir photos as a gift for your partner, definitely feel free to reach out. Let’s work together to give your significant other a gift to remember!
