Kim & Dennis ~ Settlemier House ~ Woodburn, Oregon

It was a BEAUTIFUL sunny day in August when Kim and Dennis exchanged vows at the Settlemier House in Woodburn, Oregon. The bride and groom planned to have a first look before the ceremony, however, like most weddings, the schedule needed to be adjusted and plans changed. The change, however, only added to the emotion of the day as it meant all of their closest friends and family members got to witness Dennis shed some tears as his bride approached him where he waited under the shade of a gazebo.

Kim got ready on the second floor of the old Victorian mansion with a roomful of friends and laughter! In another room, Dennis slid his feet into batman socks and pulled his pant legs down, ready to take on the day.

Speaking of happiness- there were ONLY SMILES at the wedding from the tallest to the smallest of guests and participants.  Most notably were the grins plastered on all the faces as the family huddled around the table for the sand ceremony. To symbolize their blended families joining together, Kim and Dennis chose a sand ceremony. Each family member took a turn pouring their individual container of colored sand into the larger vessel. When finished, the multicolored, layered sand was displayed perfectly together while maintaining each separate component. The large glass jar nearly radiates with a vibrancy and warmth that well represents the love and affection flowing within this family.

Cake cutting quickly turned into cake warfare- the groom ended up with a handful of cake on the side of his face, and true to his mood of the day, he grinned through it all… before chasing his son’s down with a handful of cake at the ready himself!

Some couples drink tea with their pinkies out, this couple shotgunned beers with their besties!

When it came time for the first dance, friends pinned up Kim’s train and she got right to it. Smiles and talking, holding and laughing, and even a little dirty dancing kept it entertaining!

Thank you so much to Kim and Dennis for allowing me to be there to help you celebrate your special day! It was an absolute joy to document, and experience the love and happiness that surrounded everyone that afternoon!
