Let's Talk Goals and Giveaways! ~ Boudoir Photography ~ Vancouver, WA
Whenever I get to photograph someone who I know has been wanting a boudoir session with me for a long period of time... it feels especially rewarding. It's exciting to know that the empowering experience they've been dreaming of is FINALLY here. Plus, it feels like meeting an online friend that you've known for years but just haven't had the chance to meet.
And that is exactly what happened with this client!
She was a member of my boudoir Facebook group for years, but I just never had the chance to get her in front of my camera! I would always smile when seeing her comments in the group, and I was hoping that timing would work out so we could have a session together...
This wish came true last December during my annual 12 days of Christmas giveaways! She won one of the 12 giveaways I offered... and it just so happened that she won a gifted session with me! (And if you want the chance to win a gifted session for 2027, join my Facebook group to join December 2026's giveaways! We'd all be happy to have you.)
To prepare for this shoot, I talked to my client about her goals and wishes for her session. She shared that she's been going through a long health journey, and she's had some recent body changes. Her hope for this session was to celebrate the hard work she's put in while also capturing the halfway point of her journey. She shared that she also wants to have another session done after reaching her goals. After hearing this, I was SO happy that she won the gifted shoot with me. I also knew I wanted to make the session worth the long wait for her!
On the day of the session, my client arrived at the studio, and it was a TON of fun to chat with her before we got started! Then, Haley Alverson did her hair and makeup. The final makeup look turned out to be neutral, glowy, and also featured a peachy nude lip! Plus, her hair was styled in loose, romantic waves.
In the bedroom set, she chose to use the silver satin sheets which looked perfect with her dark purple outfit of choice and her lacy black robe. This darker outfit allowed her bright smile and gorgeous complexion to shine! In this set, we also captured a few "implied nude" shots that left the client appearing nude... but it's actually thanks to a strategically placed sheet! It's a great option for clients who want to show a bit of skin in their shots but don't like the idea of baring it all.
Next, we moved over to the curtains! For this portion of the shoot, she wore a strappy top with a blue plaid flannel over it, making these images feel super cozy. The light shining into the room lit up her beautiful face, and she looked radiant! These shots ended up being some of my favorites from her entire session.
Finally, we played around with the shower set! She kept on the same outfit that she wore in the curtain set, but she removed her flannel and glasses. These photos ended up looking soft and sensual while also highlighting her fun, bubbly personality. Just from looking at these shots, you can tell she had a great time during this part of the shoot!
