Who/What Businesses Need Business Brand Photos? ~ Vancouver, WA

Who/What types of businesses need branding photography?

Well… the short answer is ALL of them!

But short answers don’t make for good blog posts, so here are four different industries and examples on “why” professional business branding photography is beneficial for each of them!

  1. Creatives and Artists

    • As a creative/artist you may think that your work speaks for itself…. I know that I did when I opened my photography business! But I soon realized that my prospective clients wanted to SEE who was behind the lens prior to working with me! People want to feel a connection to the artisan that they are purchasing. For example, several years back I invested in a large piece of handcrafted art from an artist an hour away from me. I discovered her when one of her social media posts popped up on my feed. I followed her for awhile and probably would not have been as interested in purchasing her work (even though it was beautiful!) had I not learned from her images and posts that she was a “soccer mom” (like me!), a female business owner (like me!), worked out of her home (like me!) and saw the time and effort that she put into each piece of artwork. Suddenly, I NEEDED to have one of her pieces…. and I bought one. And then I referred her to two of my friends… who also each bought (at least!) one, too.

  2. Service Providers

    • When I am seeking out a new service provider, whether it’s a hair dresser, massage therapist, doctor, house cleaners, accountant, contractor, etc., etc., I always look at their website for a photo of THEM. These people will be working with me in an intimate way, and I want to make sure that I feel safe and comfortable having them around me when I’m in a vulnerable state and/or in my personal spaces. Photos are the first step in building that “trust” factor! And I can’t stress enough that your photos should be updated on a regular basis and be a true representation of who you are…. I can’t even count the amount of times that I’ve had a doctor that doesn’t look ANYTHING like their headshot come into my appointment (or, at least, are about 15 years older!)

  3. Manufacturing

    • Manufacturing includes anyone who is “building” products for purchase - from the “small” things like clothing and personal care items, to the “big” things like real estate and electronics. Whatever it is that you are creating and selling, you want QUALITY images of your products on your website and social media. Customers shopping for your type of product WILL make purchase decisions based on the quality of your visual imagery. If the photos are a poor representation of your product, it is less likely that a customer will move forward with pushing that “add to cart” button.

  4. Hospitality and Tourism

    • With hospitality and tourism services, you are ultimately trying to sell an experience. Potential clients want to be able to envision themselves IN your spaces and get an idea of what they can expect if they choose to stay with/book you. This is why behind the scenes photos of other clients using and enjoying your offerings are so important, as well as imagery that clearly shows the “vibe” and “feeling” that your customers can expect! I know that when I am searching for a hotel, vacation rental property, or tourist-y adventure, the photos are the FIRST things I’m looking at!
