What to Wear for Your Business Branding Photography Session ~ Vancouver, WA
/You’ve scheduled your business branding photography session… Yay! But now you’re stressing about the BIG question that EVERYONE asks: “What do I wear??”.
The answer to this question can vary depending on your specific business, branding, and vibe that you want to portray. Here is a breakdown of four different styles/vibes to consider when making your outfit selections!
1. Classic Professional
The “Classic Professional” is your traditional “headshot” outfit. Things like tailored blazers and trousers or a pencil skirt with a nice blouse. Generally outfits are in neutral tones (black, navy, cream, gray). The vibe for this still is more polished, trustworthy, and established. This is great for those with corporate positions, consultants, and financial and legal service professionals.
2. Modern Minimalist
If you are a designer, coach, or entrepreneur who wants to portray a clean, confident and timeless vibe, then a more “Modern Minimalist” style may be best for you. Think simple styles and muted colors… things like a solid colored jumpsuit or sleek dress, simple knits and structured jackets in colors like white, beige, and soft earth tones.
3. Creative Chic
For my Creative people out there (photographers, artists, stylists, etc.) who want something a little more unique, bold, and expressive you’ll definitely want to pick outfits that have more visual interest. You’ll want to look for statement accessories and pattered tops, textured fabrics, and pops of color that reflect your brand identity.
4. Casual Lifestyle
This style seems to be pretty prevalent among my clients in the PNW…. this is the region’s vibe for sure! Relatable, friendly, and relaxed… that’s how we roll over here, and is definitely a good style for those who are wellness professionals, have lifestyle brands, or just want to convey a “down-to-earth” connections with potential clients. Examples of things to wear for this style include jeans with a fitted tee or blouse, flowy dresses, or casual sweaters in soft, natural colors and comfortable fabrics.
