I usually hold it together pretty well at weddings —I ugly-cry during the editing when I get to relive all the beautiful moments, but I usually keep it together AT the actual wedding… this wedding, however, was the exception to that rule!

I first met with these two at a Starbucks on a rainy fall day a full year before their wedding! We clicked - photo pun intended ;) - and they decided to allow me to document their special day!

I was a last minute addition to Kelsey and Calvin’s vendor list, due to an emergency with their original photographer, and I am SO glad that I had the opportunity to work with them! Their wedding, at Creekside Farm in Harrisburg, Oregon, was beautiful! It was a gorgeous, sunny day… even the goats came out to greet us!

Such a fun, vibrant wedding and reception at Oaks Pioneer Church and the Multnomah Arts Center!  Brian and Grace were married several months back in Sierra Leone, but decided to have another celebration with their family and friends back here in the US!

My first wedding of 2017 was a fun event in the Barley Room at McMenamin’s Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon. The space was quickly transformed from an intimate ceremony to an Italian buffet reception!

My final wedding of the year was also my closest to home, at the Old Church in Portland, followed by a plated dinner reception at the Multnomah Arts Center.

When Jillyan hired me on to document her October wedding at a private residence in Veneta, Oregon, she told me that she didn’t really have a shot list for me, but just wanted me to take pictures of their friends and family having a good time. So, I did!

One of my favorite parts (so far!) about photographing weddings, is to see all of the different themes, styles, and WORK that the couple puts into them! Melisa LOVES the Eiffel Tower and had many replicas and other Parisian elements in her collection that she was able to use to decorate Redgate Vineyard in Independence, Oregon.

My first wedding! I was very excited to be able to fill in last-minute for their previous photographer and have the opportunity to capture their day (and try out my skills with this new format!).
