Gifted & Glowing ~ Boudoir Photography ~ Vancouver, WA

Calling all partners of boudoir lovers! Today’s post is just for you…

(If you’re a boudoir fan yourself, run and grab your partner!)

When we talk about using boudoir photos as a gift, usually this refers to booking a session for ourselves and then buying either prints or an album to gift to our partners. This is such a fun Valentine’s Day gift or birthday gift, and the present always takes the partners by surprise… in the best way possible!

But what your partner may not know is that a boudoir shoot is an awesome gift for you, too! Maybe you’ve been eyeing out boudoir sessions but just haven’t made the final jump to book one… Or maybe you’ve already had one session and are thinking about booking another one… If this sounds like you, then a boudoir shoot would make an amazing present for you FROM your partner!

To all partners out there… If your special someone has ever hinted at wanting to have a boudoir experience, it’s totally possible to connect with me and gift a session. I definitely recommend it! Your partner will have an amazing time during the experience, and the final photos will be like a present for you, too. I guarantee that it’s a worthwhile experience for your partner AND you.

Check out my client’s story! After seeing how much my client enjoyed herself during her first boudoir session, her fiancé decided to gift her another boudoir experience. They both loved the photos from the first shoot, so really, this second session is like a gift to both of them! At the time of the session, they also had their wedding coming up, so it was a perfect opportunity to take some sensual bridal-inspired shots and get them even more excited to tie the knot!

Before my client came in for the session, she let me know that she wanted to try out some looks that are pretty different from the first boudoir looks she tried. She planned out a pin-up inspired bathing suit, a teddy with a bridal feel to it, and a dress. When hearing this, I immediately got excited! I always love when second time boudoir clients come in with different looks that shake things up.

On the day of the session, Emily Filice did my client’s hair and makeup, and my client loved the final look! Her curls were defined and bouncy, and the finished makeup look had a soft, glowy feel to it. We planned to choose a hairstyle and makeup that would be versatile enough for all of the planned looks, and Emily really knocked it out of the park.

We started the session off in the living room, and my client was wearing her dark dress along with a gorgeous necklace and earrings that complemented the entire look! These shots were mainly taken near the mirror, and we also made use of the curtains to add some softness to the shots. When my client switched into her bridal-inspired teddy, we transitioned into the bedroom set. For this part of the session, silver satin sheets were used, and we also added rose petals to the bed to give a very romantic touch. All of these shots came out looking so beautiful! The style of the teddy and the setup of the bed really came together to create a bridal feel in the final photos.

After using many of the common spaces in the studio, we switched things up! When my client changed into her American flag bathing suit, we started using a simple black background with a couple weights as props. This simple backdrop really highlighted my client and her choice of outfit! Plus, the weights were a fun, themed choice that also called attention to her strength. She looked so gorgeous and powerful in these shots!

To all partners out there… I guarantee that booking a session will be SO fun for you and your loved one! Take it from my client! She had an amazing time, and now she’ll have these stunning photos to share with her partner.

Thank you SO much to my client for spending the day with me. And of course, thank you to her fiancé for gifting her with this experience. I can’t wait to join you for your upcoming photography sessions and see your marriage (and family… *wink wink*) grow!
