Making Time for "Mom" ~ Boudoir Photography ~ Vancouver, WA
/If you've been familiar with Brittney Corey Photography for quite some time... you might have noticed that I love to work with mothers! (And when I say "you might have noticed," I really should say "I'm SURE you've noticed!")
I feature moms in both the "boudoir" and the "branding" sides of my business, so it's a guarantee that you've seen at least SOME of my work featuring mamas...
In the past, I've photographed maternity boudoir sessions for expecting mothers. This type of shoot is an amazing way to capture yourself during a VERY special moment in time, and it allows you to remember the incredible ways that your body changes throughout your pregnancy.
I've also worked with birth workers at The Bridge Birth Center in Vancouver, Washington as part of a branding content day! Even though this was considered a "branding" session, I was able to take postpartum photos that featured a mom and her newborn baby.
Finally... I planned an entire "More Than a Mom" fine art photography project to capture the stories of women who are mothers, but who are also SO much more! To learn more about this project or to even join me for the Gallery Show on May 2nd, 2026, just click here.
Mothers have been a main focus of my photography for SUCH a long time, and today's blog post is no exception! Today, I'll be highlighting a boudoir model session that features an awesome mom. She applied to be a model for one of my "Sweater Weather" sessions, and after learning more about her... I couldn't wait to have her in the studio!
My model is a mother of three young children, and before her shoot, she had a big change in her personal life that caused her to REALLY want to get back into who she is and take time for herself. She is also a boudoir veteran and has had a solo and couples session in the past. Not to mention, she shared that she loved the "Sweater Weather" theme of this shoot... With all of these things in mind, I knew she'd be a great fit for this session, so we went ahead and got it on the books.
On the day of the session, Emily Filice did my model's hair and makeup, and I love how the final look turned out! The makeup included soft, neutral eye shadow and a bold, red lip color. Her hair was left down in soft, stunning waves.
First, we captured her comfy sweater look! For most of these shots, she laid back while I snapped some photos above her. Her oversized gray sweater looked super cozy, but the off-the-shoulder styling really added a sensual side to the look.
Even though this was a "Sweater Weather" content session, we also took photos in the bedroom set AND the shower set. Because she was wearing black lingerie in the bedroom set, my satin blue sheets ended up being the perfect pop of color for these images! I really love how her black and white bedroom shots came out... Her eyes add such a sultry, mysterious touch! We moved to the shower set after the bedroom set, and it was such a fun way to end the session.
Thank you SO much to my model for joining me and helping me with my "Sweater Weather" content session. It was awesome to meet you, and I'm really happy that this was an opportunity to take time for yourself and to get a boost of confidence! As moms, I know it can be such a challenge to carve out self-care time for ourselves... but it's SO important to do, and boudoir can be a great way to do that!
