Five Reasons Why You NEED A Boudoir Session!

Once I’m able to re-open my studio (and I can not WAIT for that time to get here!) I’m going to be hustling to get some of you amazing ladies in for a session! I’m thinking, maybe, a “Grand RE-Opening Sale”? What do you think??

I’ve said this SO MANY TIMES before, but having boudoir photos taken is such an AMAZING experience! And something that I think every woman should do! Here are just a few of the “Why’s” for you to consider…

Five Reasons Why You NEED a Boudoir Session!

  1. You get to take a few hours “off” and relax! There are no kids to ask for snacks or call you “Mom” a thousand times in an hour. There are no household chores needing to be done. There is just you, some good music, a make-up artist to pamper you, and a photographer to compliment you for a couple of hours!

  2. It’s a confidence boost. I’ve had my own photos done several times, and every time I leave a session I feel like I could rule the world. LOL By the end of your session, you will feel beautiful, confident, and powerful!

  3. It’s a great excuse to schedule a date night with your partner or a Girls Night Out with your friends. In addition to the boosted confidence noted above, your make-up will already be professionally done! Don’t wanna waste the “make over”!

  4. Your body deserves to be celebrated! You have lived life. And your body has been there with you ever step of the way! Scars, stretch marks, pooches, lines… you earned those! I know that, as women, we don’t always have the nicest things to say about ourselves, specifically from a physical perspective. We see the flaws but forget to look for the strengths. That’s what your boudoir photo session is all about… to highlight your strength and help you really SEE and reconnect with your body.

  5. It’s a great gift… for yourself, that special someone, and even your children (yup!). The whole experience is an amazing gift for yourself (see reasons above), and I think you can guess how the final images could be a gift for your partner… but I also believe that that your boudoir photos can be a gift for your kids! In my experience, “Mom” is not often in candid family photos (as you’re usually behind the camera), and, when Mom IS in the photos, are YOU really there… or is “Mom”? Your boudoir photos, your whole experience, is about YOU. It’s about finding YOU again and showing YOU off. I look forward to the day in ten or 20 years when my daughter (or even son) looks at one of my (classier, more clothed lol) photos and SEES me. Sees the woman that I am. Sees that it’s ok to love and appreciate a not “perfect” body. Sees that “Mom” is a frickin’ bad ass!

I think I could go on and on with even more reasons (because I LOVE this genre SO MUCH!), but I’m going to stop with five… and leave you with this quote from a former client, Jennifer, who sums it up so well! (I also suggest checking out this guest post (and this one, too!) written by my clients about their experiences!

I had my photos done as a Christmas present for my husband. I didn't want to do it because I was not happy with my body, but he always tells me how beautiful I am and how much he loves me and asked me to do it for him. So I decided to suck it up and do it. And I am so thankful that I did! Even with all the flaws I see, I loved the photos! I felt powerful and sexy and it totally boosted my confidence. I earned every stretch mark, I lived through every scar, I learned to celebrate my body and be thankful for my journey. And hubby was pretty blown away too. 😉
