Why Documentary Photography Captures the Best Business Branding Images ~ Vancouver, WA
/If you’re looking for a 100% staged, smile at the camera, business branding photography session, I may not be the one for you. Sure, I CAN do those images (and I will if you really want me to) but my LOVE and specialty is focused around the “real life” and showing your prospective clients what it ACTUALLY looks like to work with you.
When it comes to photographing businesses, I definitely fall more into the “lifestyle” or “documentary” photo categories. What this means is that I may provide a little direction on setting up the scene, but then I want to capture you just DOING the thing that you do!
There are four reasons why I think this approach is so powerful for small business marketing goals:
Authenticity Builds Trust
Documentary photography captures real moments instead of those overly staged ones. Prospective clients/customers and more likely to connect with images that feel genuine… which, in turn, builds trust in your brand.Storytelling Through Real Moments
Rather than just showing off your final product (or explaining your service in the captions), documentary images showcase the process, the people, and the environment behind your brand. Telling the full “story” will resonates with potential clients and can set you apart from others in your industry.Emotion Creates Connection
Natural, unscripted interactions between yourself (or your employees) and your clients will highlight your passion for your product/service, your dedication to helping your clients, and will show your desire to make real connections. These images will help others relate to your brand on a personal level.Timeless & Versatile Content
Since documentary photography focuses on authentic moments and highlight the work that you do on a day-to-day basis, the final images will be evergreen and can be used across platforms—from websites to social media—for years to come in many different capacities!
