Before "I Do" ~ Bridal Boudoir ~ Vancouver, Washington
With “wedding season” starting up again, I have gotten a lot of inquiries regarding bridal boudoir sessions (sessions intended to create a gift of images for their to-be spouse on/before their wedding day).
I’ve worked with some brides who use these sessions as an opportunity to be photographed in a more intimate nature with specific accessories that they plan to wear on their wedding (like their veil, garter. jewelry, lingerie, etc.) and others who want to use items that remind them (and their significant other) of their relationship/love for each other (such as significant clothing items, engagement ring, or other props). This session with a bit of a combination of both!

Tattoos and Lace ~ Halloween Boudoir Session, Vancouver, WA
This client has two favorite holidays… Halloween and Christmas. We talked about how much she’d like to open a Halloween/Christmas store one day, so it seemed only fitting that she was my finally “Halloween” session in my studio before I flipped everything to Christmas. (Seriously, as soon as she left that day, Christmas decorations went up. lol).
With her cattle skull, cauldron, witch’s broom, and astrological jewelry, we had a ton of fun creating some scenes both on camera and off!

Don't Chicken Out! ~ Guest Blog, Vancouver, WA Boudoir Photography
I had never felt so cared for and thought about from a complete stranger than how I felt leaving Brittney’s studio. From the second I walked in, it was like a safe zone and I left my worries at the door…. The only thing I would change about my entire experience would be if I could tell the insecure girl who chickened out the first time “Hey trust me, you’re gonna love it!”

Thighs That Could Crush a Melon ~ Boudoir Guest Blog, Vancouver, WA
By the end of my session I gained something even better than my own personal hype girl though. My own confidence. I was my own cheerleader. My eyes stopped looking at my “problem areas” by the third outfit and I was way more focused on how good my chest and butt looked. I’m not lying when I say I could have walked out to my car in the strappy red outfit, head held high with no fear.
I got home with the biggest smile on my face ready to change out of sweatpants and go out! I gave my fiance his little sneak peak polaroid and he was just about as excited as me to see the rest of the amazing shots. I took my fiance out to lunch, walked around the mall, then eventually he wanted to take me out to dinner. I wanted to show off wearing a tight dress I hadn’t touched in my closet since college days, and his eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas. I absolutely could not wait to see the pictures and as soon as I got my sneak peaks I fell in love with myself all over again.
Damn I looked good.

Kim & Dennis ~ Settlemier House ~ Woodburn, Oregon
It was a BEAUTIFUL sunny day in August when Kim and Dennis exchanged vows at the Settlemier House in Woodburn, Oregon. The bride and groom planned to have a first look before the ceremony, however, like most weddings, the schedule needed to be adjusted and plans changed. The change, however, only added to the emotion of the day as it meant all of their closest friends and family members got to witness Dennis shed some tears as his bride approached him where he waited under the shade of a gazebo.

Loving My Shower Set! ~ Boudoir Photography, Vancouver, WA
It didn’t actually take that much to get this set up… an acrylic sheet clamped between two backdrop stands, my ring lights, and a water bottle! It’s totally an example of “what you see vs. what I see” type of photography. lol It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but OMG I LOVE the effect that I’m getting!

Cottage Core Birthday Boudoir ~ Battle Ground, WA
My client told me that she wanted the photography session to have a “Cottage Core” vibe, so (after quickly Googling what the heck that was. lol) I delivered with an outdoor photoshoot that had softer elements used in the background and foreground of the photos.
The garden background tied everything together and gave the session the feel she was looking for! The plants and soft fabrics really added a ton to the mood of the photos. Plus, the natural lighting we had for the photography session complemented the set beautifully!
